Ethel Overesch
Ethel M. Overesch, age 90, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Peabody Manor. Ethel was born on September 20, 1926, in Forest Junction, daughter of the late John and Loyola (Gussert) Peters. On September 11, 1948, she was married to Vernon Overesch at St. Francis of Hollandtown. Ethel was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Elizabeth Hospital for five years.
Ethel loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She enjoyed making prayer shawls with the ladies in her church group. She was also known to give away her hand sewn potato bags. Ethel was a long-time member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton

Ethel is survived by her six sons: Joseph (Celeste) Overesch, John (Maurine) Overesch, Frank Overesch, Daniel (Laurie) Overesch, William (Jean) Overesch, and Anthony (Joan) Overesch; two daughters: Mary Ann (Allen) Summers and Theresa (Dave) Newland; a brother, Chuck (Ann) Peters; and sister-in-law, Janice Overesch; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Vernon Overesch, and two sisters, Marlene (Ted) Brunette and Myrtle (Joseph) Heimmermann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at church on Thursday from 9 am until 10:45 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to the staff at Peabody Manor, especially Lexie and Pam.
