Obituary for Roberta "Bobbie" Kohl (Davis)

Roberta "Bobbie" Kohl (Davis)
Roberta “Bobbie” Mary Kohl, 88, passed away from her journey through Alzheimer’s on Oct. 4, 2017 at Carolina Manor in Appleton, WI with her daughter and niece at her side. Roberta and her twin sister, Alberta were born in Arkansas City, Kansas on Feb. 7, 1929 to the late Eldy and Helen Davis. Roberta married Cecil Glen Robison Jr in Wichita, Kansas on Aug. 10, 1947 and they worked together as missionaries as he was minister of Churches of Christ around the United States and in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada. While in Canada they adopted two of their three children, Larry and George. They returned to Milan, Kansas to work with the church there and they adopted their daughter from Korea. In 1962 they moved to Appleton where he ministered with the Spencer Street Church of Christ until his unexpected passing. They were married 20 years.
Roberta married Byron Louis Kohl in Appleton on June 7, 1968 and they shared 38 years together. After his retirement they did a lot of traveling around the States including Hawaii and the British Isles. Eventually they moved to Montrose, Colorado until Byron’s passing. Roberta moved back to Appleton to be near her sister and brother and their families.
Roberta loved nature and especially birds. In her younger years, she canned vegetables and loved her flowers, sketching and painting. She worked with World Bible School and brought many to the Lord. She loved the Bible and taught many classes. She shared Jesus with everyone she was near. She was an awesome journaler and never missed a day for years.
Roberta is survived by her sons: Larry (Jessica) Robison, Fate, TX and George (Brenda) Robison, Montrose, CO; a daughter Elle-Lo (John) Bauer, Maple Grove, MN; her identical twin sister Alberta Bruner, Appleton; a brother Frank (Marge) Davis, Neenah, WI; eight grandchildren: Wendy, Tracy, Ken (Kelly) Robison, Misty (Eric) Lambert, Alec (Heather) Robison, Chelsea (Kevin) MacDonald, Chloe and Kai Bauer; nine great grandchildren: Alexis, Christian, Zane, Emma, Cole, Kyle, Malcolm, Jaxon, Wyatt and three more coming soon.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil G. Robison; husband, Byron L. Kohl; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Robison and Norval Bruner.
A Memorial Service for Roberta will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at Mason Street Church of Christ (2600 N Mason St.) Appleton. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be held at church one hour prior to the service with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the non-profit, Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp.
Our heartfelt thankfulness to all the staff and caretakers she has had since moving back to Appleton: Appleton Retirement Community, Mosaic Medical and Synergy Medical. There are no words! For the Staff at Carolina Manor and AseraCare Hospice, your sincere kindness and love shown to Bobbie and all her family during her final years was more than we ever expected. Words cannot convey how wonderful Bobbie was treated and loved by all of you. You have given us a whole new meaning of Thank you!
Bobbie-thank you for being a good mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Shalom
