Maurice Schumacher
Maurice J. Schumacher, age 91, of Appleton, was born to eternal life on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Maurice was born in Little Chute on March 29, 1926, to the late John and Hattie (Williamson) Schumacher. He graduated High School at St. John’s in Little Chute. On October 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Florus Weyenberg at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple has enjoyed 67 years together. After high school, Maurice worked at Outagamie County Co-op for a short time. He then was employed by Kimberly Clark, later known as Midtec, where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed watching sports on television – especially the Packers and Brewers. He and Florus made quilts and hats for the missions in the Appalachian Mountains. He was a devoted parish member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.

He will be missed by his wife Florus, Appleton; four daughters: Jean (Stephen) Russum, Girard, IL, Jane Grinvalsky, McFarland, WI, JoAnn Heegeman, Appleton, and Marcia (Steven) Miller, Little Chute; son Michael (Nancy) Schumacher, Menasha; 13 grandchildren: Kristina, Rebecca, Erin, Kevin, Leah, Jeffrey, Gregorey, Amy, Jennifer, Todd, Tracy, Steven, and Andrew; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Eugene Schumacher, Appleton, Marvin (Leona) Schumacher, Rhinelander, John (Katie) Schumacher, Appleton, and James (Donna) Schumacher, Kimberly; 4 sisters-in-law: Marion Schumacher, Neenah, Lucille (Don) Jacobs, Neenah, Marlene Sutheimer, Merrill, and Germaine Schumacher, Kaukauna. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, October 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father Jon Thorsen officiating. Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room on Thursday from 9 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
